Article 10: Cookies
10.1 General
A cookie is generally defined as a small file stored by a server on a user’s terminal (computer, telephone, etc.) and associated with a web domain (i.e. in most cases with all the pages of a single website). This file is automatically sent back when the user contacts the same domain again.
Cookies have many uses, including storing an identifier, the language in which the web page is displayed, an identifier enabling a user’s navigation to be tracked for statistical purposes, and so on.
Some of these uses are strictly necessary for functionalities expressly requested by the user, or to establish communication, and are therefore exempt from consent. Others, which do not correspond to these criteria, require the user’s consent before reading or writing.
Information collected via cookies is stored for a maximum of twenty-five (25) months.
10.2 Types of cookies
During consultation of the Website, cookies or other means of recording navigation data collected are used by the Joint Processors or by third parties, service providers for the Website, which are deposited on the User’s terminal (computer, mobile or tablet).
The Website thus uses strictly necessary cookies, without which Users cannot use the Website and benefit from its services. In addition, cookies intended to improve the Website’s services, analytical cookies or cookies for sharing information with third parties are used by the Website with the User’s consent.
10.2.1 Cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the Website and the provision of its services
The cookies used by the Joint Processors enable Users to be identified, to recognize their browser when they connect to the Website, to record their browsing preferences, to memorize an identifier and to adapt the presentation of the Website to the display preferences of the User’s terminal, with the sole aim of providing the tool and services to which Users have access at their express request. These cookies are essential for the proper operation of the Website and for Users’ browsing on the Website, and therefore do not require the User’s consent.
Users may, however, configure their browsing software in such a way as to oppose, totally or partially (in particular depending on the issuer), the recording of these cookies, but the Joint Processors draw Users’ attention to the fact that their browsing experience may be altered as a result.
10.2.2 Cookies for improving the Website’s services, analytical cookies or cookies for sharing information with third parties
Other cookies, which make it possible, for example, to improve the performance of the Website, to measure the audience and activity, to detect navigation problems and improve the experience of Users, or to share information, may be deposited on Users’ terminals only with their express prior consent via a cookie banner or the cookie manager at the bottom of each page of the Website. Users may withdraw their consent at any time under the terms and conditions set out below. Consent is valid for six (6) months. At the end of this period, consent to the installation of such cookies will be requested again.
10.3 Cookie management
Consent to the deposit and reading of User data by cookies is requested on the first visit to the Website by means of an information banner displayed prominently on the page consulted.
This banner will present in a simple and clear manner all the purposes of cookies, as well as the data controllers (who may be presented by category, where appropriate).
Therefore, on the User’s first visit to the Website, he/she is asked whether he/she accepts cookies requiring his/her consent, classified into different categories according to the purpose, before installing them on his/her computer or terminal. Cookies requiring such consent are only placed if the User expressly accepts them by checking the box(es) and/or button(s) dedicated to each of the cookie categories concerned within the Website’s cookie management module.
Cookies are managed via a management module accessible at https://jyros-jeuvideo.com, which is displayed when the User first connects to the Website.
For the use of cookies for which the consent of Users is required, such consent remaining optional, Users are free to refuse such consent or to withdraw it at any time via the aforementioned cookie management module.
Article 11: Modification of the privacy policy
The Co-Managers reserve the right to modify the present privacy policy at any time, in particular in order to take into account any legal, jurisprudential, editorial, functional and/or technical developments. Where necessary, the Joint Data Processors will inform Users and/or seek their consent. The Joint Data Processors advise Users to regularly consult the page of the Website on which the privacy policy appears to take note of any changes or updates made to the privacy policy.
Article 12 : Contact
For any questions relating to this privacy policy, or for any requests relating to personal data, Users may contact Le Consortium National du Jeu Vidéo pour l’Environnement at the following address: contact.jyros@gmail.com
